From the Washington DC area
Lost River Crossing in Baker, West Virginia, is about 120 miles (2 ½ hours) from Washington.

• Take I-66 West to I-81 South (towards Roanoke).

• Continue on I-81 south for about 2 miles.

• Take exit 296. (Note: If you want to stop in Strasburg to eat or visit antique shops, take exit 298.Turn left on Route 11 and follow signs into town.)

• Take Route 55 West about 20 miles to Wardensville, WV.

• Turn left on Route 259 South. (Drive slowly, Wardensville is a speed trap!)

• Follow Route 259 South about 10 miles to Baker.

• Turn left on Route 259 South and go 1 mile until you see the Lost River Crossing sign on your right.

From Harrisonburg, Virginia
Baker, West Virginia is about 1 hour from Harrisonburg.

• From I-81 North, take exit 257 (Timberville, Broadway).

• Take Route 259 West to Timberville.

• At the traffic light across from Broadway Motors, turn left to continue on 259 West.

• Follow Route 259 to West Virginia.

• Pass through Mathias, Lost City, and Lost River.

• Stay on Route 259 until you see the Lost River Crossing sign on the left.
